The traditional villages of the Sierra each have their own character: Sequeros with its 19th century theatre, two churches, and ancient hermitage in the oakwoods, nearby Villanueva del Conde built round a square of littlevegetable gardens, Los Santos a pleasant mixture of old and new. All share fresh mountain air and splendid views. These and the wild flowers and birds, rich history and robust country cooking make the sierra one of Spain’s best kept secrets.
